As you begin this journey of preparation for Confirmation, you are taking a significant step in deepening your relationship with God, through Jesus Christ and strengthening your understanding of the Catholic faith. This program is designed to support you in your spiritual growth, enrich your knowledge of the word of God, the Church’s teachings, and prepare you to fully embrace your role as an active member of our faith community. The goal is to form faith-filled young disciples of Jesus Christ, who will live out their Catholic faith with joy, service, and commitment, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Program Overview: Youth Confirmation is an accompaniment journey open to High School Freshmen through Seniors beginning the 2025 –2026 school year. Classes meet once a week on Tuesday or Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. In preparing our youth to receive their Holy Sacrament of Confirmation, the following must be met: ● “Remember to keep the Sabbath day.” (Exodus 20:8) and attend Mass every Sunday ● Participate in the active life of the Church - SLR Fiesta, Pentecost & Days of Obligation ● Complete 60 hours of Acts of Service (30/year) as "Faith without works is dead." (James 2:26) ● Participate in Community Penance during Advent & Lent ● Attend Pentecost Mass as a class ● Experience Eucharistic Adoration twice during the year as Jesus ask "Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?" (Matthew 26:40) ● Participate in Youth Group at least twice during the year ● Attend the scheduled Retreat for your class year ● Both parents must participate in monthly Parent Formation
