Message from Fr. Tony - The Day of Pentecost
by: Fr. Tony Astudillo
A Christmas message from our Pastor To our Parishioners, Friends and Benefactors:
It is my great joy to greet all of you as we welcome our Lord, “the Word made Flesh”, the real “bread of life” this Christmas. Sensitive to the presence of our Lord as ‘Emmanuel’ through our being ‘priests, prophets and kings’ amidst our diverse traditions, may we journey closer to our mission and vision in bringing our Faith Home. Let us go ‘small’...be nourished by ‘the Word’...be conscious of how we are ‘graced’ and become a ‘grace’ to each one… ‘be continually formed and grow’...and ‘Welcome Home’ one another embracing each one who comes to us with the heart of the father. With our Blessed Mother as model of discipleship, let us long to “be faithful to the teachings of the Apostles, a common life of sharing, the breaking of the bread and prayer” (Acts 2:42) ...as we not only share bread with each other but rather become bread for one another. Feast of the Holy Family! One Parish, One Family...Let our families be at home…and our home be our families. Let us through the intercession of St. Lorenzo the Family Man, model our families by the Holy Family—Jesus, Mary & Joseph. This is our embrace of our three year sojourn Zacchaeus Come Down--- a call to bring the Faith Home. Like Zacchaeus, let us Welcome Jesus Home. I thank all our parishioners, benefactors, friends and fellow sojourners who are always there with us. I am most grateful to our volunteers, Core Group, the staff, the many stewards and leaders of our Parish, in particular the new pastoral leaders of our Parish as we embark on a 3-year sojourn of discipleship: Come Down Zacchaeus. As we remember you in our prayers this Christmas season, we thank the Lord for having brought you into our lives. We pray that amidst the ‘restlessness’ and ‘homelessness’ of the world these days, particularly of what we go through this pandemic, the newborn Savior comes to the ‘rescue’ and bless your families with His peace throughout the New Year.
With Fr. Martin, Deacon Brian & Deacon Steve and the priests who help and serve us,... a blessed Christmas and Welcome Home…to ‘where Earth kisses Heaven’ – hopes to a very fruitful New Year. Welcome Home to our Pastoral New Leaders Parish Core Team
